A view from the Central Fire Station in 1957. The empty space in view was where the Halfords building once stood (before it was destroyed by fire).

Was the pub the Brunswick on Lench Street/Lancaster Street junction ?

Buses were on Brickiln Street, the road just below the Fire Station was Corporation Street. Road on the left was Lancaster Street.
