That photo was taken at the top of Warren Farm Road, just before Tansley Road (Hawthorn Road behind the photographer). There's still a bus stop there today, Photo must have been taken in the summer.
Could have done with one of those gas contraptions in the winters of the 1960s when the buses struggled to get to the top of Kingstanding Road !
There is a discussion in another thread giving details of this and similar other buses that ran on the 33. The experiment was made by the government to save fuel but did not last very long as it was not very successful.
