Been searching my archives and found some old maps of these areas. In no particular order, firstly Kingstanding about 1920

These are great maps Michael. Going to print them off and compare. This is one area of Birmingham where there was, what seems like, an overnight change in the 1930s. From a traditional rural area to an area swallowed up with inter- war housing. Thanks. Viv.
 
Thanks for that Mike most interesting. My dear neighbor who live in the area as a child used to say how lovely it was back there. She was almost ninety when she passed away some time back and talked about when Shady Lane was fields. There are still allotments in the area though.
