The post I made below on the KEGS New Street thread set me wondering whether the school was actually part of the history of KEGS and I think it must be. It was on land leased by the Free School (the school owned several buildings in Shut(t) Lane. The 1786 advert clearly states the School was looking for a master for the Free School King Edward the VI in Shut Lane. So it was indeed part of the School.
