This man died on on HMS Defence when she was sunk with all hands at the Battle of Jutland 31 May 1916. How do I found out where and when he was born?

Just as a note of interest - one of his sisters, Rose Kilmister, appears to be a housemaid in 1911 to the American Ambassador to Great Britain.
