Does anyone where I can find any info on the Horse Fair. I notice it was adjacent to Bromsgrove Street. My ancestors ran The Malt Shovel in Bromsgrove St (Joyce from Ireland) The family story goes that one relative was involved in a murder at the Horse Fair. Not sure if victim or perpetrator.

Any help appreciated

would the person in question be john joyce? theres a criminal register for warwickshire of john joyce - date of trial 6th july 1874 for manslaughter. 15 yrs imprisonment.

Thanks very much for that, I will need to look into it. It is a possibility. Do you know where can I access the criminal register from. Are they available online. Was there any additional information

Thanks very much for you quick response and your help.

Thank You

Simon

There is a Brendan Joyce who ran a nightclub called the Gary Owen a few years ago. He could be related to you. If you google the name you will find some info.

it is on the ancestry.co.uk site. there is an original document to view but thats all the info on it. i had an ancestor on the gloucester criminal records and i contacted the record office and had extra documents sent to me. i dont know if bham do the same. i had to pay for them but not too dear. it gave a little more info on the crime and a description of my ancestor.
