Joseph Tomey & Sons Information

I came across this company that manufactured various glass gauges in Birmingham (pressure, depth, altitude, etc) and was hoping to find out a bit more about them.

The Grace's Guide website has a number of images of adverts and says they were founded in 1853. And indicates by the 1950's there were a number of different companies in the group, and possibly trading/product names (Tomey Industries, Tomey Industrial Makers, JL Tomey and Co, L Tomey and Co, Excelsior Gauge Co)

But I can't seem to find anything after this date, or any other mention of them apart from older adverts.

One of the main things I'd like to find out is what happened to them post-1950's. Whether they were swallowed up by another company, closed down, etc.

Thanks for reading.
