Re: sarah jones

Hi Alan

Sarah Jones B1840 Bham Married George JelFFs B1840 Bham in 1860 Aston AMJ ref 6d 309

In 1851 this could possibly be her before her marriage living at 12 Court Gt Lister Street. Her father is Francis Jones born 1807 Bham and he is a Brewer. Her mother is Martha Jones born 1814 Bham. There is also a brother of Sarah called Francis Jones born 1836 bham.

In 1861 Sarah now married is living with her husband George Jelffs at back of 71 no Cromwell Street. George is a gun barrell grinder.

Alan

Perhaps Sarah had the baby at her parent's house as in 1861 her father & mother (Francis & Martha) are living at 48 Gt Lister Street and the address on the page before is 12 Court Gt Lister Street (Her father Francis' occupation is Brewer)

Re: sarah jones

HI SUZANNE
Many thanks for your valuable time in taking the tasked for me yes as it stands you are correct all round as i have just been sent a birth certif of him
and the person whom was involved also set me some cracking pictures of him and his brothers standing out side the old banna ovens
along with another person whom can only presume he married for the second time or at least i think so ;
and that was mary anne hughes the person whom i gratefully received the picts from was a relative ; she his a member of the forum but does not come on very often she had in fact sent me the birth certif; of him and his mothers details and it was the 12 courts; and that it stated his father was a gun
barreller as well ; on the subject of grt lister stret did you notice any body else living thre as well please ;
I can tell youu that this lady forum members mom was my mothers first cousin ; so we are related and i hope she does not mind if i can get my son to put these pictures of them in the forum but i will phone her or em her and asked if she minds me doing it
as this george william is her great grand father just like me and the george whom died first was his first son whom i beleive was burried in witton ;
many thanks again sue ; have your self a nice day even thou it may be a wet one ; best wishes alan ; astonian ;;

Re: sarah jones

Hi Alan

Glad to have helped. I didn't really notice anyone else who may be related to them in Gt Lister St only that in the 1861 census there was a George Smith boarding with Francis & Martha Jones (Sarah's parents) and he was born 1828 in Hornsbury, Lincolnshire and his occupation was Blacksmith.

Take care
Suzanne

Re: sarah jones

hi suzann
i was thinking it was later years that george or his son ran a coffee house in the thirtys in grt lister street
so it was years later that they started to build the shops ;
