Hi all, need a new set of eyes, mine have gone off somewhere!
Am trying to find the marriage of my gt grandparents and just cant get anywhere! I have my grandfathers marriage cert 1947, states his father as Arthur Lloyd Jones, also have his birth cert 1921 which states his parents as Arthur Jones and Blodwen Jones formally Evans.
Have found a possible marriage for Blodwen Evans to ? Jones, June qtr 1920, Merthyr, 11a 2083, but just cant seem to find out who the Jones is that she married, is it Arthur or someone else, really dont want to order the cert then find its the wrong one, well who does. Have really enjoyed ordering the certs, keep looking at the ones i have and am facinated lol
Really need this cert to go further back, i have asked my aunt, but she could only tell me gt grandad was called Arthur and gt grandmother had a welsh name, i found out myself from the certs the correct info.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Arthur Jones Marriage?

Aww, thank you so much for looking, really really appreciate it, this one has been bugging me for weeks! At least i can knock that one on the head, and look at others.

I am going to write to the goverment, i dont want Glamogan 1911 census, i WANT 1921, what do you think my chances are? :D

Thanks again

Re: Arthur Jones Marriage?

Good luck in even getting the 1911 welsh census information! I finally found a marriage certificate for William Lewis and Mary Andrews which has taken forever (do you know how many William and Mary's there are in South Wales!? think it must of been compulsory for Wm and Mary's to mary!) thought brilliant - have addresses now for 1914 in Abercynon, can try and identify more family on the census :( They haven't been transcribed yet:(

Re: Arthur Jones Marriage?

I have put a bit more info on here, rather than on the help/tips forum, so as not to take up space on there.

Arthur Jones and Blodwen Evans, found out the June 1920 Marriage is not Arthur, but John, so that wipes him out.

On Ronalds birth cert it says parents Arthur Jones, Blodwen Jones nee Evans, living at 10, Victoria Street, Caerau, Maestag, registered 10th Feb 1922.

On Ronalds Marraige cert says father Arthur lloyd Jones, living at 10, The Avenue, ?, can't read the rest.

Ronalds was theoldest of 4 children, i have the details of 3 but not the last, Ronald L Jones, Brdgend, Mar 1922, Alice M L Jones, Bridgend, Jun 1923, George T L Jones, Bridgend, Jun 1926, and the last one is Anthony but cant find his ref, wont put any ref's down as George and Anthony are still alive.

I have looked on Freebmd, but it looks like 1920, has very little transcribed, but i also wonder if some of the records have wither been lost or destroyed.

I dont know where Blodwen was born, and its not easy searching Jones and Evans in Wales, picked a great name to search didnt i.

I would like to say thank you to everyone who has put their time and effort into this search, its very much appreciated, especially as i had no contact with these grandparents as a child due to a family fued, that sadly is still very much going on today.

Best wishes to all

Re: Arthur Jones Marriage?

hello wendy

have had another look at the marr. registers but cant find a match at all. the most likely time they would have got married was prob oct-dec 1920 but as you said there are no records surviving. have checked the other months around that time and previous year but no good.

Re: Arthur Jones Marriage?

Thanks for looking, really appreciate it, i dont think i'll ever be able to purchase this marriage cert, which then means i cannot go any further.

Thanks
