Hello everyone,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to find Henry Williams Birmingham roots?

The only record I have been able to source for Henry which states his parents' names is from his marriage certificate in Australia in 1894. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to read. However, I can confirm some of the details which may help decipher the rest...???

William Henry Johnson Bachelor from Birmingham Eng, News Agent, age 29, 240 Abercombie St, Redfern married (parents ???), Engineer.
Catherine Phillips Spinster from Lachlan River (west of Parkes NSW), age 22, Parkes, (Parents Richard Joseph Phillips and Elizabeth Mary Bulley), Miner.

Ancestry has suggested Willam' Henry's Parents to be: Henry Jolmson and Lina Jolmson, however friends have suggested it is Henry Johnson and Jane Devereux. Any suggestions are welcome as I have exhausted free sites trying to narrow down the possibilities.

The family history on this line is almost non existent as Henry and Catherine only had one child in Aust, who then also went on to have one child. Henry Willam's Daughter Ileene Lottie Heckenberg recalls her father receiving mail from the UK that had a royal estate stamp or sign on it, however there is no sign of this now and absolutely nothing on Henry's Uk past except that he was a Freemason in Australia and attended the Church of England services.

I can confirm only presume that William Henry went to a very good school as he was very successful in Australia and became the Town Clerk of Cabramatta between 1908 and 1933. His death certificate states his parents are unknown.

Anyone have any Engineering Johnson's out there that might have relatives in Australia?

Not being familiar with Birmingham or the surrounding counties I am a little lost with where too next - any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I'm sure that there are more qualified people on BHF to help you but I did find this.
