John Brotherton Cox

Can anyone help please by looking in Kellys to see if a John Brotherton Cox was listed? He was a Boarding House Keeper in Handsworth, and died in that area in 1909. I am interested to know how early he was listed if he is at all listed as he had been living in another part of the UK.

Thank you

He is listed , though as John Bretherton Cox in the private address section, though I think this was not uncommon fro those keeping boarding houses.
1900 - 1908 Cox John Bretherton, 64 Holly road,Handsworth
Immediately before that (1895-99) he is not listed, though that doesn’t mean he wasn’t in the area.

Thank you Mike, that is spot on. John B Cox was on the Isle of Man in 1891 and in Handsworth for the 1901 census, so that gives me some indication of where he was.
