Shera, Would you mind having a look for a christening for a John Ansell, born approx. 1816, but that is from the 1841 census, so could be plus or minus. Joseph Ansell was christened at St. Martin's 5th October 1810, with parents John and Sarah. Charles Ansell was christened at St. Martin's 21st May 1812 with parents John and Sarah. I believe John to be the brother of Joseph and Charles, but cannot find anything on the I.G.I.
If it doesn't take too long, could you have a look to see if John Ansell was also christened at St. Martin's with parents John and Sarah.

Thank You
Ann

hello ann, sorry there doesnt seem to be a christening for him at st.martins. he couldnt be the john greenwood ansell christened in 1819 in norwich could he? parents john and sarah.

Hi Shera,

Thank you so much for looking. John Ansell's son Asbury is living with Charles Ansell on the 1851 cencus, and he is down as Charles' nephew. So John and Charles should be brothers. I'll have a look at the one in Norwich. The younger John is showing as born in county, but his father John out of county.

Thanks again. At least I know it is not St. Martin's.

All the best
Ann
