jelf Helen and george

Astonian

gone but not forgotten
HI guys
i was wondering whether or not is it possoible for some-one could spare a bit of there time
and look on there cencus for the period of 1851 claines worcestershire
for a couple named Elisebbeth and george jelf as i have leart some think last night
verbally from my daughter that a person whom runs a spiritual meeting in solihull
and is fairly well known person in the field and my daughter is involved with
as told her that [ being this other person] claims to her that her great , great grand mother
was married to a george jelf and she said that this elisebeth had a brother called william
and i know there was a helen jelf married to a charles jelf at the same token
the person told her that eliebeth was also known as helen
i have been told on this forum that the jelfs was into relationships
and it got me thinking, that helen jelf is recorded some-where to have married charles henry jelf
and they lived in wadbourough worc
now wadbourogh is only afew miles from claines worc so is it possible that this is the
the same lady and i had mary ann hughes living afew miles apart from claines as well
whom married george jelf when he moved to brum
and she also said that jelfs had a gun business in the city of brum which i already knew
and i remember seeing this shop when i was a kid the shop was still around in
the early forties and late fifties i think it was either the old steel house lane
oppersite the steel house lane police station or on albert street
in the days of the old jacey picture house they was tiny little shops just like the one was what as been shown on the forum on steel house lane today
and she told her also that her family connections was jelfs through her moms
grt , grt grand mother, and that the name Illsleys and powell
and that she said where the name of the Ilseleys name of a gun came from
and powells whom made the guns which is her family connectios
and that they went into partnership with the jelfs gun bussiness
but i am intrigue to find out about this george jelf and elizebeth jelf
also known as helen because of the name charles and a charles jelf marring helen
and love to know about mary ann hughes
i do not expexct instant results as i know you are all very busy on other projects
and i know its your valuable time
once again guys i thank you all for your time
best wishes Astonian ;;;;;;

Re: Helen and george jelf

1851 has these, not exactly what you want I don't think:

Eliza Jelf (age 36) born Claines, wife of Samuel Jelf (41), living Wichenford. children William (14), Maria (7), George(5), Sarah (3), Emma (11 mths).

Elizabeth Jelf (5), daughter of George and Rachael Jelf, born and living Claines. also brother (of Elizabeth) William (age1).

No Helen Jelf mentioned for Worcestershire.

Re: Helen and george jelf

Hi LLOYED
Many thanks for your very fast and valuable time , you are some amazing guy
one day i would like to meet you
no you are quite right its the very one i wanted indeed when i put helen , i was wrong
i did get my words muddled up what i was meant to say that years ago they called
elisabeth [ elie] for short and silly me put helen , instead of the short version
and the reason i can say that its because my daughter is involved with some people whom
live in solihull and my daughter see,s them regular and she was discussing things with a certain lady
and she was telling my daughter that her mom was relative to the jelfs, and that it
was her grt , grt grand mother whom had married sam jelf at claines
well my oldest daughter knows a fair bit of the family to what i had told her of the jelfs
and the part history of wichenford and sam and the family i did not remember racheal
maria i knew about because she moved to birmingham at the age of 15 years old and she had george
of her own named george and they lived down belgrave rd way back then
and it stated that she was visiting her father sam . on the night of the cencus,s and she was registered as
the daughter visiting i do not know whom she was living with i do ot know it was not mentioned
but getting back to the story line these are the correct family
and this lady whom told my daughter had told her of rachel and how her grand mother told her stories of
there wealth with in the jelfs family family my daughter said i will asked my dad and this lady would like
to meet me some -time
my daughter thought it was spooky this lady whom she never really known for some time
and became friends and said se was a part of the jelfs tree
has i said i was aware of maria and little george beig the sibbling to sam but not aware of rachael
as his wife and maria had moved out to brum at fifteen years old to belgrave rd
and i remember this part of that from my mother when i was young asking her questions
samuel had twenty eight acres of land and quite afew shops of provisins so i can think back about the provisions they supplyed to birmingham and stored in there two big ware houses
one at 868 tyburn rd erdington ajoining there coffee shop and home called ivydene 901 tyurn rd
along with the two story building at the rear of 235 park lane
so my jig saw as all come together thanks to you lloyed you are a true star through out
lloyed once againmany thanks best wishes Astonian, ;;;;;;;
