Jefferson and Parkes family Hockley

Thanks Janice. If William was a greengrocer, that might explain the abundance of flowers for the wedding party, especially for the bridesmaids. Greengrocers used to, not only sell fruit and veg but sometimes flowers. Viv.

Looking at the picture and the names, there was something familiar about them and I have just remembered, he was very friendly with my father when he was a political agent in Ladywood and owned a Ŕover12 or14 car which he would regularly give us lifts in. He was also very friendly with R.T.Parkes, a businessman from Handsworth, I think, and I also think he, Parkes, was a local counciĺlor, was there a Parkes connection between Elsie and R.T?

Can't see any obvious connection between Elsie and R T (Reginald Thomas) Parkes. Certainly not siblings and they don't appear to be cousins.

The Wilkes shop with the van outside ( laundry & dry cleaning?) was driven by Brian ??. Jean who was the shop assistant married Brian and moved to a house on the Yenton, Erdington and then to Marsh lane,Erdington. I believe they had 2 children. We used to get our comics each morning from there
