Hi All.
This is just outside the Birmingham area but someone might know about it.
Several years ago I was driving down Fulford Hall Rd which is off Norton Lane Earlswood & I spotted this gravestone on the right hand side of the road, since then it has been damaged when the hedge was cut but this week it has moved to the other side of the road!!
Does anyone know the history of this stone??
Pete

In Vivian Birds book. 'Birds Eye View' it says the stone is in Memory of General James Johnstone of Fullford Hall. He is buried at Budbrook Churchyard and the stone inscribed J J 13 June 1896 It marks the spot where he fell from his horse and was killed

We drive past this every day, going to the woods off wood lane. The monument looks much taller than the one in the photo, was it taken before it was moved? The date is actually 13th June 1895.
