The enormous building (or its site) aren't really recognisable today.The 'new'/ redeveloped/rebuilt building seems to have been where the modern apartment building today sits at the junction of Great Hampton Street and Hockley Street (see modern Streetview). I think the former building was once occupied by Lucas engineering.
A potted history of James Hink's crystal lamp works from Grace's Guide tells as:
1850s Company established by James Hinks Crystal Lamp Works Great Hampton Street
1865 Developed the Duplex burner for petroleum based lamps.
1873 The company was registered on 25 April, to acquire the business of the firm same, lamp manufacturers
1888 The company was re-registered.
1905 James Hinks died and the business continued under his son Joseph Hinks.
1906 The company was re-registered.
WWI Made mess tins, grenades and parts for shells.
1919 Mr J. Hinks displayed a liquid oxygen vaporiser flask of 5 litres capacity, that was used by airmen in order to maintain their breathing
c1920 Business taken over by Falk, Stadelmann and Co.
