hi firstly thanks to lyn for putting me in the right place,i am looking for help in tracing the birth of michael j jackson who was born in birmingham in 1934 to rose jackson,he was put into a convent orphanage shortly after his birth,i have checked gro but can not find his birth, thanks

Welcome to the forum.
Was he adopted? Not sure how much difference that might make to what might be available to the general public.

Whether he was born to a single mother and adopted within days he would have to have been registered as the mothers child.
The only Michael J Jackson mother Jackson in 1934 was in Winchester he was registered in Apr/May /June qtr.
There is an entry in 1939 in Meriden RD, but looking at the neighbouring streets, the entry is for an institution in Coleshill,High street, covered by Meriden RD, that would be the Roman Catholic Father Hudsons homes, now closed.

Michael Joseph Jackson b 15th April 1934, Inmate.

hi alberta, thanks for that, michael joseph jackson looks very promising, how do i link to this is it on the 1939 register,i have ancestry.co.uk but had not been able to find anything,

Information can be found at Father Hudsons Care, online.
There is still a care home in Coleshill but for the elderly but on their site is Origins and you can order information about your relative,in the childrens home the fees are a bit steep , I think about £ 30 for some info. but an extra £45 for the files of their time there
