Hi, my great grandfather and his forebears were all boatmen latterly based in Toll End. I would like to find out more about the lives of boatpeople, especially those who had houses!
My maiden name was Ralph going back through William, grandfather, William, great grandfather and John Great great grandfather and Thomas my great great grandfather.
John is my difficulty as there were 2, both of whom married an Elizabeth.
Until my grandfather's generation Ralphs married other boaters. Lloyds, Wrights.
I would be grateful for any info on Toll End and the Ralphs.
