Hi all, my family dates back to Small Heath were a lot of my ancestors originated from. My grandmother was born in Carrington Road, Small Heath, her name is Myrtle Ellen Darby (bee Russell), her mother was Rose Ellen Russell (or Barker) and my grandmothers siblings were Brian Russell, Maurice Russell, and Muriel (Moose) Russell. My grandmothers parents also owned a butchers shop called Barkers purveyors of fine meat on Regent Park Road, they were called Charles Roy Barker and Martha Barker (nee Maud). If you have any information to add it would be much appreciated as we’d love to find some old photos of Carrington Road.

Rose and her parents were living at 71 Carrington Road from at 1911, so your family were there for a good few years.

Yes she did, my great-grandmother Rose eventually moved to Arthur Street and moved in with my great-uncle Brian, she died there as well.
