Illegible Street Name

Could anyone tell me what street this might be please?

Is it on a census ? can you check neighbours pages as they may be clearer,

If not take it to your local Chemist,, they transcribe Doctors so they're good at deciphering stuff ( lol )

Looks like Rentham Street to me, but can only find Wrentham Street which runs from Bristol St to Sherlock Street on the map, maybe a spelling mistake, but could be the road doesn't exist any more!

I agree with John Young's comments re doctor's writing skills, I am a (retired) medical secretary and on occasions have had to resort to asking Consultants what they have written in patient's notes and sometimes, but not often, they themselves had difficulty deciphering their own writing.

Is their a name or a firm associated with it. Possibly we might check whether there is that person/firm associated with Wrentham st

More of their writing style may be of help as it would enable folk to see how they form various letters?

I wondered if it might be Trentham - there is a Trentham Grove but not street though.

However, it does look more like an R.

Good one that John! No, its from St Martin's parish records some of which are now on Ancestry so it would have been somewhere in that parish.

As with a lot of old documents, the writer is recording what they HEAR, so I believe it would be Wrentham Street.

I looked through other pages of the document and eventually found a surname with the same first 'letter' followed by 'ice'. As I think that could only be Rice the assumption that the name is a mis-spelling of Wrentham is very likely correct. Many thanks for your help everyone.

I do not wish to dishearten you but i do not think for one moment
that is wrentham street because there seem to be aian for the last four letters i would do what some one said take it to an old chemist or even the old doctors or go back to the registry office and see if any one can translate it for you
it also could be what sparkie said that the be beginning could be an old t rolled around i cannot say for myself what the address is but obvisouly the bottom st stands for street but never in a months of sundays that be wrentham street
