Pomgolian
Kiwi Brummie

Have you ever made pink and white sugar mice (our's were rainbow ones) :?:  Well I did at Playcentre, a few years ago. I had forgotten all about it until a friends passing comment jogged my memory.
You take;
(Amounts depend on how many you want to make, how much  mess you allow and how much is eaten in the making).
Icing Sugar,
Egg Whites,
Currents,
White Thread (cut into short lengths)
Vanilla Essence,
Food Colouring,
Warm Water.
8 young 4yr olds, two adults,
Lots of fun and laughs
Let the kids sieve the icing sugar and expect it to fly everywhere except in the bowl, let them beat the egg whites and again this mix will go everywhere, however what’s left goes in the bowl with the icing sugar 8) . An adult adds the warm water and few drops of essence gradually, while the kids take turn in stirring the mixture into dough like consistency. (Kids continually put fingers into mix and lick them :twisted: ).
Tip mix onto a board and let the kids take turns to knead the mix, split dough into four and add a few drops of different colouring to each part, and knead each part again.
Give each kid a small amount and ask him or her to make a mouse shape, just like when they do with play dough (expect to give some kids more than one piece – the temptation to eat the mix is too great for some :twisted: ).
Using the currents make the eyes and the thread for tails leave on a tray in the fridge to dry hard 8) .
Don’t let other adults near as extra currents will be found scattered around the tray – and we all know what that represents don’t we :?:  :twisted:
To round things off we talked about mice and their habits, asked who owned pet ones and sang songs about mice including 'A Windmill in Old Amsterdam' and we ate the mice for afternoon tea.
