Astonian there are dozens of Mary Anne Hughes listed in Birmingham, so can you give as much info as you can. Wa she your mom's mom, if so your mom's name and birth date, or if she was the mother of your dad, his date of birth and name. Did she marry, if so her husbands full name.

hi diane
just to let you know that i have found a link
to the lady in question, yesterday
and that i met an old gentleman, in his house in the village
of old honeybourne , thats was called cow honeybourne
in them days not far from the old air field in bretonford
his name his jim hughes and mary was his mother
jim his the oldest member in the village of honeybourne
along with mrs goggins
the local and modern day of mrs sharples of corri; st,
they are both elderly people in there 80,s and 90,s
jim told me that he was born james ,
but his real christian name is hanz,s
and his father was a german,
and his mother ran away with a jelf which was george senior
so now i know where she is coming from
some one recently told me that the jelfs was into relationships
and i checked the parish records for the marrige
and he was married to some one else before mary ,
diane ,thanks for your intrest ,
when i have compiled allmyinfo; on the jelfs,
believe me there his one hell of a\ story behind the jelfs
which involves some of your city slickers

best wishes astonian ;;

Astonian, I think we ought to all club together and buy ya a flak jacket and put ya in a safe house.....
And surely you mean BRETFORTON not BRETONFORD
BRETFORTON is where the FLEECE INN was (got burnt down a few years ago I think, now rebuilt )

Mother Eliza Hughes (formerly - sorry I cannot read this but it looks like ?.....nning).
