how do you research a Birmingham athlete ?

Hi there,
Just a quick note wondering if someone can possibly help or advise ?
My son is an athlete and may have inherited a family gene !!!
It seems that my Uncle, Frank Luckman of Aston ( born 1890 - died 1963) was possibly an athlete for a Birmingham running club many moons ago ?
What would be the best way of checking details of an athlete ?
Any help or advice much appreciated

Hello Margaret,

Birmingham had two main athletic clubs Birchfiled Harriers and Small Heath Harriers. Birchfield are still going strong but Small Heath merged with Solihull Harriers around 1970 and now carry that name. If you 'Google' both clubs you will find plenty of information and maybe an idea of where to look for details of particular athletes.
