Hi Topsyturvey
They are realy good photos. It is a collection of members photos lost in the hacking, i think the last one is Wendy's (just by Key Hill Cemetry i think)

Regards Stars

Stars, I remember these well, the one on Vincent St is so familiar. They always smelled awful to me when I walked by.

Are the one or two they have preserved just for show or are they still in use ????? I must agree the smell was awful, bad enough outsidel but inside it was overwhelming, and no means of washing your hands not very hygenic at all . Eric

Hi
I was out Wednesday 14th December 2011 When i passed this old gents loo.

I am not sure of the date of the clean looking loo, but the dirty looking one was taken by me on the above date.

They are the same loos taken from different positions and different times

This must be the biggest one in town Allison St Digbeth it was used by all the workers that worked under the Viaduct. Dek

What is replacing these facilities? Smelly and in-hygenic maybe but needed all the same. In other countries...store facilities and garage facilities...or Mc Donalds like eateries can be used. I suppose this applies to the UK now also. Still a decent design of street loo would be good. A challenge for a designer. Mainteance and vandelism are drawbacks.

Theres a cast iron gents outside the Cannon pub . Corner of Edward Rd, and - I think - Court Rd. Could be wrong, but I seem to remember one under one of the railway bridges in Park Rd, Digbeth as well. Havent used one since I was a kid, but I remember one by the Kingston cinema, and one in Lawley St. both had a sign in them abbout the 'Special Clinic' and a sign warning about it being an offence to spit in the street. Pity that laws not enforced anymore.

maggs has asked me to post this lovely pic of the horses trough that was in icknield st...

thanks maggs

Some great photo's on this thread the horse trough is brilliant. I hope something can be done to preserve some of these urinals. Apparently the one on Key Hill is to be preserved with a perspex front so it can be viewed after restoration. I hope it is!

oh so do i wend..i know the urinals may not be the nicest subject in the world to talk about but none the less they are still a part of brums history..

I think this has been on before, but i thought i would post it. This trough stood infront of the greenway pub.
the pub was just at the junction of the Coventry rd and Cattell Rd across the road from the Blues ground.
