Holmes Family Of Smith Street, Ladywood

I am researching my paternal family, Henry George Holmes and Dorothy May Holmes (nee Harris, I think). They lived in Smith Street Ladywood in 1955. I remember visiting them in the 1960s and there was a bus depot behind them. I would like to find out more information about them, their siblings and their parents as I am truly stuck for information. Thanks in advance.

Henry George Holmes and Dorothy May Harris married in Aylesbury Bucks in 1924.
Obtaining the marriage certificate will give fathers names.
First child Ivy B born Aylesbury 1925.

According to the electoral roll they lived at no 3 court 1 in 1930-1939. In 1945 Dorothy was at no 5 back 29 guildford St. In 1947 they are listed at both no 5 back 29 guildford St and at 2 back 20 smith st, so (assuming it was the same couple, which I think it was) they moved that year. they remained there till 1952, but in the search does not show them 1955-60. This is possibly a fault in the search, as they seem to reappear in 1965 at 1 back 75 St clements Road

1945 e roll has them at 5 back 49 Guildford Street with Ernest and Eva Hodgson also listed at the same address. 1955 both at 2 back of 20 Smith Street.

here they are in 1939 on the eve of war register

Thomas H Holmes 17 Jan 1929 Male School Single
Frederick (J) Holmes 03 Jun 1931 Male School Single
Sidney W (Sydney) Holmes 22 Feb 1935 Male Under School Age Single

There are 2 entries which are blacked out on the register (officially closed) so they were still living when the register was published.

1939 register son Thomas' dob is 17 Jan 1929, but I can't find a birth in that year, however there is one in 1929 with mmn Harris so I think they may have entered 1929 in error??

Ivy B was born in Aylesbury, but it looks like the rest of their children were born Birmingham.
