Hi, I'm looking for information on a Mrs Eva Higginson who lived at 13 Belgrave Terrace, Soho Rd, Handsworth, Birmingham. She is receiving money from a Sydney John Winkles who is a soldier of WWI. He has her listed as his sister. I can't find her in any census etc... The Winkles where from that area as well. Anyway, we don't seem to have any info about her at all. Grandpa never mentioned having a sister by that name? Any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Norm

1920/50 electoral roll has them living at 13 Belgrave Terrace, Soho Road, Handsworth plus Alfred Robert in 1925/27, and Roland Frederick by 1930/31, in 1935/36 Roland is no longer at the address, 1939/40 Roland is back and Alfred Robert has left, 1947/50 only Eva at address.

I’m unable to connect Eva and Sydney so far and the only, tenuous, connection I have is William Winkles at 103 Bacchus Road, and Alfred Higginsons living at 208 Bacchus Road on 1912/13 Electoral roll.

Hi, Thanks so much for the information. I just have to figure out what Eva's Maiden name was so I can make the connection to Sidney Winkles. We do have a picture of Sidney J Winkles with another Sidney. The picture is mark "The Two Sidneys" and they are about the same age. Wondering if he was just helping out the family during the war? Or could the Higginson's be related maybe on the other side of the family? This is so much fun, sorry for rambling on. I am very excited about the info. Cheers, Norm
