what a great photo .what regiment?
Although I've put many colourised photos on the forum there are some which perhaps should not be colourised and this might be one of them. The image appears to be a photo of a photo and the camera was not perpendicular and off centre. This causes a 'slant' effect - the right side is leaning and smaller. I've used my computer to partially correct the perspective and removed scratches ready for colourising, but had a 'mix-up' with colour masks so need start again.

Well done OM
You are spot on , this is a photo of a photo and even your version is better than mine so thankyou so so much for this and the advice .Although I've put many colourised photos on the forum there are some which perhaps should not be colourised and this might be one of them. I could put the image on a white background with a title and date.

Adding colour to B/W photos
My Heritage has introduced a program to automatically add colour to black & white photos. I've tried a few and some of the results haven't been too bad. You need to be registered with My Heritage but this is free. See https://tinyurl.com/usrxjlhbirminghamhistory.co.uk
Well what can I say this is stunning , and looks way more realistic than the original black and white version of mine , thanks for taking the time to do this for me.
It looks great, my personal opinion is the black and white one holds more character in these men's faces when it was taken. It Looks like the cap badge is a Warwickshire regiment. do you know what this battalion this was?Well what can I say this is stunning , and looks way more realistic than the original black and white version of mine , thanks for taking the time to do this for me.
