Heroes' Shrine, Aldershot

JMB

knowlegable brummie
I was just adding some pictures etc to the entry for the Heroes' Shrine in Aldershot to the IWM WMR. This has rubble from about sixty towns and cities that were bombed during WWII, but not Birmingham.

A question is asked about this in a 1951 newspaper but the answer does not seem to be known.

There is not a working link in your post to the reference, but I assume that the question referred to is that below. I have moved this thread to the memorials section.

There are three answers;
1. They didn't ask Birmingham or
2. They forgot Birmingham or
3. Birmingham never sent a piece of masonry or did not reply
