help with a death

ADELE

master brummie
Hello
My great grandfather x 3 Alfred Charles Preece was born in 1865 Woolwich kent, we have his birth certificate so know his parents and siblings.
My problem is the death certificate, nan had always told mom her dad had died when she was 13, that would be 1913. I have been in contact with Witton cemetry who have an entry for a death of an Alfred Charles Preece he went into public or common grave. So why when i sent off for a death certificate did Birmingham register office say this person wasnt in the running for my man. The name and age were spot on.
Im not sure if his wife Minnie Agnes Preece nee Watson is mentioned on the death certificate but i did put several names of family members down. I have details of the family in 1911 census , Alfred is on it.
Do i just chance it and get try for the certificate again .
Any ideas or help.
Adele

the certificate looks correct to me

alfred c preece b. abt 1865 death 1913 jul-aug in birmingham 6d 265

i would just send for the cert again and dont bother putting relatives names on the request as sometimes no-one is mentioned on a death cert
