help identifing this recod City of Birmingham A.R.P identifacation card

All I know is its my great granddad and it says City of Birmingham A.R.P identification card, I don't know the year, has anyone ever seen one or know where I can find out more

with the possibility of an outbreak of war the ARP act was passed in 1937 so i would guess the ID cards were issued just before the outbreak of ww2 because on the 1939 eve of war register we often see ARP alongside someones name however as this was a voluntary service your gt grandad could have joined up after 39...this is my best guess..

thanks for your response, so Ithink I've found the 1939 register. I cant read the job to well

precision grinder aircraft production..there was an aircraft production factory in castle bromwich as your gt grandad lived in drews lane he may have worked there
