Hatfield, Arthur John & Mary Ann

Hi all,
I have been researching my family tree for a few years now and I have come across a newspaper article regarding Arthur John & Mary Ann Hatfield ,
It's from the Birmingham Gazette dated Friday 5 December 1913 and it says they were charged with neglecting 4 of there 9 children but was given another chance by the stipendiary of the police court,
Any help and/or advice where I can find more information about this case would be much appreciated
Many thanks Paul

carlisle street is just a couple of streets away from the workhouse at western road

sad story...mary ann was only 42 when she died but it does look like arthur made efforts to look after the children...you most likely know this but on the 1921 census he is living back of spring hill passage ladywood as a boatman and has 5 of the children still living with him the youngest being annie aged 12
