Harris the cleaners

I wonder who their customers were back then for such a huge building? hotels, hospitals, probably or well to do families. Now laundries are mostly gone I suppose.
Does anyone remember the one in Laundry road Smethwick? my wife lived there, a very short road with big gates right across the end. Their noise woke everyone up at 5AM every morning
