Thank you all for the past help you gave me on my Gt Grandfather Alfred Davis. Trying to find my Grand Father Harold George Davis. Born in 1900 3rd quarter, Aston, 6D Page 263. 1901 census on 1901 living at Kyrwicks Lane. Parents Alfred and Elizabeth Davis. He died I believe on New Years Eve at Minworth, Aged 29, death event showing as Meriden. Would this mean his death was registered at Meriden, Warwicks? Could he still have been buried in Birmingham? I was given in correct info regarding Alfreds burial at Yardley. Was told his first wife was buried there in a common grave, but he was buried in a grave with a headstone. Went to Yardley this week, to reception. To be told he was also buried i a common grave. At least I know he was there, and thank you to all those who helped, very grateful. Now a new mystery, hoping Harold was buried somewhere in Brum. My dad would have been 5/6 when his dad died. Thank you, any more info required please contact me. Last piece really of my jig saw. Strange I have a grave stone Of my Gt Gt Grandfather, and have visited it down in Evesham. He also died in The Royal Oak Pub, which is still there and does very nice food.

The Harold Davis who died in Minworth has his address on the probate record given as 4 court 3 house, Charlotte Street, Dudley. See above:

Is this the right one?

Have just checked one of dads sisters birth certs/not deaths. Confirmed as 3 Charlotte Street, Dudley. Born March 1929, wow, he died not long after my aunties birth. Emily, my dad and 2 sisters lived after that at Arthur St, Small Heath. Dad told me his mom worked at would it be BSA ammunitions and was buried but got out of there during the war. Thank you Janice, just got to fing where Grandad was buried, regards, Keith.

Glad to help. As it is the right person my brain says "if he lived in Dudley then how come he died in Minworth"? The death has to registered in the district where he died (Minworth must come under Meriden) but he could be buried anywhere. You could try Yardley again as a start.
