You are right Graham. I used to occasionally go to St Francis church with friends in the 50s ( although i am not a catholic ), at the front of the church there was a Piety stall where you could buy religious objects.
There was a club next door where they had dances and bingo on a Wednesday i think. Max

Stained Glass Windows from the Swedenvorg Church, Wretham Road are on display in the Art Gallery, next to the edwardian Tea Rooms.

Good to see that they have been preserved.

I used to go to Jumble Sales at the swedenborg Church in the 1960's, gor some really lovely stuff, including some Kilner Jars and a Water Colour Painting.

I went to school at Soho College, Handsworth, and as we had no hall for gym, we girls used to walk down Soho Hill to Wretham Road once a week for our P.E. lessons in St Francis' Hall.
