HALLAM SLEIGH & CHESTON LIMITED

History

Founded in 1886 as a Birmingham (England) based company manufacturing horse harnesses and saddle fixings, Hallam Sleigh & Cheston was a family owned business started by Messrs Hallam & Cheston. By 1900 they had moved into the
the automobile industry making locks, hinges, bonnet fasteners and similar items.

Since the 1970s all production has been centred on Plume Street, Birmingham. The current manufacturing site continues Widney’s long history of innovative design and quality manufacturing.

In 1976 Hallam Sleigh & Cheston started trading as three separate trading divisions. They were Widney Dorlec, Widney Windows and HSC Engineering. Still going strong in Birmingham & still in Plume Street.
