Does anyone have any information about this pub 1875 onwards? I have looked for photographs/images but have found none. Wallace Winkles took over the license of this pub in 1874. That is all I know. Any information gratefully received!
The pub was at 35 New John St West, on the south side between Newtown Row and summer Lane. The building is shown in red on the map below. Wallace is listed as landlord in the 1876 directory , but by the 1878 edition it is George Horner there. The newspapers (8.5.1874) list him as taking over the licence from the day before.On 6.1.1887 the licence was transferred to R.Evans
