Great War ending School Certificate

Looking through some of my dear departed Mum`s things, I found her Certificate from school commemorating the end of the Great War. Although born in Cannock, her adult life was spent in South Yardley, before passing away at a tragically young age of 33 with cancer. I was only four years of age, and have no memories of my dear Mum, only the few photos, etc. The certificate seems strange to us in this day and age.View attachment 65794

hi doug, it does seem strange is this day and age but schools did't just teach the 3 'R's in those days they taught manners, responcibility, dedecation, merit through hard work, and devotion to ones country. if you have a photo of your dear mom put on show I managed to keep mine till I was 56 yrs old, and I know how lucky I was.
regards paul

How lovely you have some treasured memento's of your Mom so tragic to die so young and sad because at four you wouldn't remember her. I am glad you have some photo's. The certificate is lovely they were works of art in themselves.
