Hi all, i am new to this site, i joined today 30-7-10. I am researching my family tree and have found out, from an 1833 baptism record,that my GtGtGtGt Grandfather was a coal dealer in Aston in 1833. He lived in Gt Brook Street.
Does anyone have any ideas how i might be a ble to track down the likely merchant he would have been working for??
Any kind of help or extra info would be great. Anybody else researching GORMAN from that age and era that i can help let me know.:wave:

Andy i lived not far from From Gt Brook St it was in Duddeston it ran from Vauxhall Rd to the top end of Ashted Row both the roads have disappeared now. i would think he lived at the top end as the houses below St james church were some of the best in our area (not that this says much for these houses) if he worked for another coal merchant this is going to be hard to find as most of the streets with a yard had little coal merchants in them.Dek

my grandfather Nathaniel Farrell and my uncle Norman Farrell were both coal merchants in that area, lived in kingstanding Dudderstan & Nechalls I dont know too much about it becaus emy familiy have only just reunited after 60 years apart
 
Hi Tiggy, i guess there is much to much of a gap in time for much hope of any knowledge of my ancestor, he died in 1833. If however they have any old photos would you mind sharing?? If i can offer any help to you, just ask.

there are no photos at present but interestingly due to this forum Ive been in touch with my Moms cousin that Ive never even heard of before & she has the family albums and is going to let me have a look at them
