GOODE and SMITH

rowan

Born a Brummie
Am trying to find the marriage of Emily Smith to Henry Goode. They are on the 1901 census along with Emily's children Albert, Caroline and Gertrude (who were twins) Emily and Lizzie but I cannot find a marriage.

Emily was listed on the 1891 census with Samuel Smith and children Henry, William, Elizabeth (Lizzie on the1901 census) Emily Albert,Gertrude and Caroline.

So what happened to Samuel? Did he die between 1891 & 1901? Can't find a death for him.

They were listed as living in the Aston Manor but where?

Any help would be gratefully received........... please :-* :-* :-*

Thank you

Rowan have you looked for Samuel Smith on the 1901 at another address. Not many people divorced, so it could be that they separated, and Samuel is there somewhere. With one of his older children?

Thank you again Di  for your reply.

I didn't look up the 1901 census myself, someone did it for me :-[ and said they were unable to read the address. I am very grateful,of course for any help and you dear Di, are always helping. Along with so many others, I send my gratitude :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

I am still looking for a possible marriage of HENRY GOODE and EMILY SMITH (nee RIGBY) after 1892 when her first husband SAMUEL SMITH died

I have been told that Henry may have been in a workhouse in the 1911 census.........please can someone do a look up for me?

He would be about 72yrs.

I can't find a death for him or Emily, who of course may still have been a dreaded SMITH
