Good Bye Poppy

Almost eleven years ago My daughter Stephanie was deputy manager at the RSPCA wildlife centre in
Cheshire, a local farmer rang up and asked her go pick up a feral kitten that he had found in his barn. She
was the sole survivor of a litter, and so tiny, about three inches long, like a little rat with its eyes still closed.Steffi took an incubator, put it on the back seat of her car, fed the little puss with a droper.
After saving her life there was only one place she was going to finish up, with Steffs other cats at home.Just like the ugly ducking she turned into a real beauty, and was soon the TC.
They recently found out she had, a tumour in her tummy and last night the vet put her to sleep.
Everyone will miss a really loving and affectionate cat. The problem is when you treat a pet as part of the
family its so hard when you lose them Bernard

Sorry to hear that Poppy had to be put to sleep. It is so hard to lose a pet. Thanks to your daughters care, it sounds as if Poppy had a long and lovely life - what a lucky cat to have found such a good home. R.I.P Poppy.

sorry to hear that bernard. theres lots of us on this forum that love animals and are heart broken when they die. thanks to your daughter for giving poppy a good life.

i am also sorry to hear about poppy bernard...like shera said there are lots of us members who have lost pets and its so upsetting as they really are part of the family....at least she had a good happy life and was well looked after...

I also lost one of my beloved cats to Cancer last year. Its so hard as they are one of the family and you grieve just the same. Best wishes to you all at this sad time

Bernard, please pass my sympathies onto your daughter and thank her for loving Poppy and giving her a fantastic life.
I understand only too well the pain she is going through.

We are only loaned our beloved pets before they leave us for the "Rainbow Bridge" where hopefully we will meet them again.

As someone who has recently lost a much loved pet I can understand how you and your daughter are feeling. Poppy was a very lucky cat having someone like Steff to save her life and then to provide her with a loving home. But, in the same way, Poppy also gave so much back to the family.

With the pain of losing her will also come some lovely memories that nobody can ever take away.

I am so sorry Bernard but what a fantastic life she has had. When I lose a pet I cannot bear to look at their photo 's at first then when I am ready I go through them on my own remembering the happy moments and the love they have given me back. RIP Poppy. Jean.
