GOFFE

knowlegable brummie
Samuel Goffe married Maria Sanders in St Martins Church 22/2/1814
any other details listed please,Thank you

they were bachelor and spinster and both of this parish. they signed their names and the witnesses were john thomas sanders and ann goffe. the names and date you have are correct but sorry, nothing else recorded

i have noticed this one though, also at st. martins. john pratt married elizabeth goffe on 11th nov 1813. the witnesses were maria sanders and samuel goffe

l was looking at freebmd and family search last night and found an eleonor middleton pratt married alexander sanders 9/8/1778 so looks like its my lot
have some rellies that were using st phillips for births and married at st martins also now an elizabeth and ann goffe, must be sisters of samuel
thanks for the info

found that marriage you mentioned in 1778. alexander sanders and eleanor middleton pratt were bachelor and spinster and both of this parish. the witnesses were moses collins and mary worton. im sure that alexander sanders was some sort of church official at st. martins as his signature is on lots of the marr. records as a witness. presumably when the people getting married hadnt brought their own witnesses

yes l also found eleonor sanders married joseph sanders before 1784 so maybe alexander died ? and she remarried..brother?? could you see if anymore goffe`s were born [samuel, ann, elizabeth] or married there about that time, please

alexander sanders did not die about that time and was still signing as witness many years later. i can find no reference in the parish records to the igi record you found for marriage of joseph sanders to eleanor sanders. this was a submitted record not an extracted record so i would discount that one. cant see any more goffes although the earlier records can be very difficult to read.
