Glen Cottages, Bournbrook

Bournvilleboy

knowlegable brummie
Hi all, I am trying to find any photos or information about 3 Glen Cottages, Bournbrook in 1911.
My Great Great Grandfather Luke Bannister lived there before his death in the workhouse infirmary Selly Oak.
Cheers

Maps for Bournbrook/Selly Park are not as extensive as for other parts of Bham unfortunately.

However, I think Glen Cottages may have been back houses behind no. 523 Bristol Road. On the 1921 census a Rupert Baker appears to be listed at 6 Glen Cottages and on the 1922 ER 6 back 523 Bristol Road and Thomas Webb at no. 7 (the difference is not uncommon).

If correct and they are back houses then photos may be difficult to come by, possibly in an area shot. This map is from 1910 and if the numbers are similar as they are now then Glen Cottages could have been one of the group on the north side of Bristol Road...

And this is from google maps which (luckily) still has a no. 523 on the right hand of the 2 houses that are now part of 'Dream' with an entry down the side which would correspond to the 2 houses on the map (above) to the right of the first group of houses which start with the bank.
