Hi lyn im looking for married she married Joseph falloon iv search i know now she lived in Birmingham thank you

Is it possible there was no marriage to Gertrude because he was married to someone else?

Possibly Joseph Porter Falloon b1888 Ireland, married a Georgina Forbes in 1907. In Ireland on the 1911 census with wife & daughter, listed on Charlotte St on the 1922 ER. Can't see him on the 1921 census, despite having at least one child with Gertrude reg. in Bham prior to it.

Alternatively they may have married in Ireland or somewhere the records haven't been released yet.

You probably know this but from at least 1930 onwards Joseph and Gertrude Falloon are listed at 66 Repton Road Bordesley Green
Joseph's probate is listed at that address in 1953 but recorded as Joseph Fallon.

I am puzzled:
1935 eroll for 66 Repton Road

1939 register address matching the eroll info for Joseph and Gertrude.

There is a daughtter Lily but the only1926 birth reg is for a Lilian (that doesn't worry me) but mmn is not Harris it is Deyus so am now wondering if I have the right family.

To complicate matters there is a tree on Ancestry (I don't always believe these) that suggests Joseph Falloon's wife was Fanny Gertrude Dayus. I suspect the eldest child may be from Joseph's first marriage. Fanny Gertrude Dayus is on the 1921 census as single.

However, I have no idea if this is correct or not. Apologies if it muddies the water rather than clarifying anything.

Another complication
I think blanked out entry on 1939 might be Robert (appears on a later eroll). His birth registered with mmn Harris

Strangely, there is a Gertrude Harris reg. in Aston in the correct quarter of 1893 who has a sister Ada that marries an Edward Dayus. He dies in 1917 and she re-marries in 1921.

That appears to be the only Harris/Dayus close to that time.

A bit of a stretch maybe but perhaps Ada registered the birth for some reason and there was some confusion.

Do you mean Joseph (son)? He was reg. as Falloons/Harris.

Edna May Gardiner's maiden name appears to be Harris and she may have been the illegitimate daughter of Gertrude.

She doesn't seem to be on the 1921 census either which again suggests that they may have deliberately avoided it, possibly because Joseph was still married to someone else.

In regards the family tree, I'd guess that they've seen the maiden name as Dayus for Lillian and came up with Fanny, adding Gertrude to make it 'correct'.

If it's the Fanny Dayus of Staffordshire, she marries a Benjamin Colley in 1924, death reg. in Bham 1977.

I couldn't find a reg for Joseph b 1920 - perhaps I had better look again.
I saw two births reg in Aston in 1893 but there was also a death registered the same year so I wasn't sure.

I was suspicious but thought I would add it to the info for possible ruling out.

Sorry
The answer to the question from post 3 - when did she marry? We don't think they married as Joseph was already married.

Surmising with the info available...

Joseph Porter Falloon b1888 Belfast, married Georgina Forbes in 1907. They had a daughter - Elizabeth b1911 - and on the 1911 census are living in Shankill, Antrim with M in Law. They then have a son - James Houston b & d 1912.

Between then & 1918 Joseph comes to Birmingham and gets together with Gertrude Harris. Gertrude already had at least one daughter - Edna May b1917.

None of them seem to appear on the 1921 census but Joseph is listed on the 1922 ER at 10 Charlotte St.

They have at least 6 children - 2 die young - but don't marry, possibly because Joseph is still married to Georgina.

It may be that Joseph fought in WWI and that is how he came to England.

Thanks - I was going to try a summary later.
Pity there isn't a 1921 Irish census to see what happened to his family there.

1926 for the Irish census, though who knows when it will be available,

An Irish equivalent of BMDs would be nice also.
