George Ward - Baker 1901

Hi all,
Have a George Ward, baker, at 315 Bloomsbury St, Nechells...
Am looking for the family of his daughters husband....Ada Violet, who married a Joseph Hollis.
I have reseached the census report for 1901, hoping to find a neighbour of the same name, but can only see 315 Bloomsbury st upwards..
Is there anything in Kelly's for a Hollis in the area???

These are all the hollises in the 1900 Kellys. don't think any fit, but only a relatively few private addresses went in.

Have just found George Ward, Baker on 1881 census in Austin St, Nechells - still a baker, and still looking for any Hollis family in the immediate vicinity - if there is??

Could this be the family?

Joseph Hollis m. Lizzie Ellen Lawrence 1q 1898

1901 census: RG13; Piece: 2873; Folio: 117; Page: 35.

1911 census:
Joseph Hollis
Lizzie
Gertrude
Harold
Joseph (7)

This really looks promising - I have a birth year of 1903 for Joseph, which fits nicely.
I see you have access to 1911 census.....is there any possibility that you could give me an address for this Hollis family, and maybe the father's occupation - so that I can recheck with my cousin (her family is now in Australia, which is why I'm doing it for her!)
Hopefully, I will then be able to trace backwards.
Many thanks in advance for any info

Hi Negritaspider

That information is chargeable and I'm rapidly running out of credits.

However, on the 1901 census, you have probably already found the family at 210 Mount Street Nechells.
Joseph 23 Stationary Engine Driver b. Coseley Staffs
Lizzie 24 b. Berkley Gloucs
Gertrude 2 b. B'ham
Harold 7mths b. B'ham

From 1911 to 1945, the Hollis abode was 180 Long Acre Nechells.

They had another child, Sidney, who was born 3q 1913 Aston

Lizzie disappeared from the ER's after 1925 and I think she died 1q 1926 age 52.
