I am looking for any help with the address of George Perks he lived at 'The Grange' which I think was on Aldridge Road Great Barr. George died in 1892. His wife was Maria who died in 1883. Maria was the daughter of Joseph Gillott. Many thanks:)

sorry i just cant find aldridge road to look through. keep seeing george perks, the grange, aldridge rd. but not the whole road with the neighbours. :(

George's address changed from Kirkstall Villa, Perry Barr to The Grange Perry Barr between 1878 and 1880. the position of the Grange on Aldridge road is shown on the 1890 map at https://www.british-history.ac.uk/mapsheet.aspx?compid=55192&sheetid=10073&zm=1&x=261&y=304&ox=1614&oy=2572 . The Grange is a different house to Kirkstall villa , as in 1890 George Perks is listed at the Grange and Isaac Bradley at Kirkstall villa. Kirkstall villa is , however, also in Aldridge Road.. John Cook Giles at Lichfield Villa and James Keay at The Mount and john mousley, at Wellhead cottage were three of his fairly close neighbours.

Re George Perks
My father purchased the Grange in 1950 - it was no 48 Aldridge Road. It had become a seedy hotel called the Tresco and was used as accommodation for American personnel during the war. He renovated the building and it became a fine home again and then a club. It was demolished in the 70's to make room for halls of residence for Aston university. I have photographs of the house in its prime if required.
