George Pendered born Birmingham 1870. Lived at 72 White Road, Sparkbrook. Left family to be a soldier and was last known to be in India. His service number in the Oxford and Bucks Reg. is 20058.
CWGC show a Ernest Pendered served Worcs Reg. Service 23738. Died India 1918 Oxford and Bucks Reg 20058. How can I confirm this is the correct person?
Anyone have access to Worcs Records who could look up Ernest/George date of birth parents would slove the problem

His medal card has him listed as George Pendered 20058 Ox & Bucks.

But the CWGC has him as Ernest.

1901 census shows an Ernest Edward Pendred, born 1885 Bedfordshire
or
a George Pendred, born 1892, Birmingham.

I'm inclined to think his real name was George, but he decided to be know as Ernest, for what ever reason.

Part of my problem looks if it has been solved. Two people one Ernest Edward Pendred born 1885 Bedford Wellingborough and George Pendered. Geoge was definately born 1870 Birmingham and in 1901 is living 24 White Road, Sparkbrook,
sometime after this date he left the family joined the army Oxford and Bucks Reg and went to India. Never heard from again. The George born 1892 Birmingham is his son my grandmother's brother. The search continues
