George & Dragon, Livery Street

My 4*Grandfather, Thomas Brueton, appears to have been based at The George & Dragon, 75 Livery Street in 1845 (I don't know in what capacity) https://forum.birminghamhistory.co.uk/showthread.php?t=30733&p=307924#post307924

Does anyone please have any info about the pub at this time and especially any pictures/sketches?

I have found some references for it from 1807 - 1827 so I know it must have been around for a fair amount of years https://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/cor...0940F7FD866C8B1C8025743B003209FB?opendocument

There appear to be other George and Dragon pubs in the near area:
e.g. Corner of Pope & Albion Streets
https://forum.birminghamhistory.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7501&highlight=dragon
and corner of Weaman Street & Steelhouse Lane https://forum.birminghamhistory.co.uk/showthread.php?t=23766&highlight=dragon
but I don't know if these are connected in any way

McKenna’s “Central Birmingham Pubs” states that the George and Dragon closed 1855. with David Wollaston its last licensee.
"George & Dragon" was a common name for a pub, probably from the days when easily distinguished signs were used to identify them to those who could not read. I don't think there is likely to be any connection to the other pubs, other than the licensed trade.

I can add a little more information regarding the George and Dragon as my 2 x gt grandfather, Darius Woollaston, was the licencee from about 1849 to 1850 but he then became insolvent. You could look at the London Gazette site and find references to Darius in the 18 July 1851 and 5 August 1851 issues.

The address was given as 75, Livery Street, which according to the Post Office Directory for 1850, was situated between Great Charles Street and Cox Street - which is quite a long way! Google maps seems to confirm that it is presently between Water Street and Mary Ann Street as identified by Mikejee.

Is it pictured in McKenna's "Central Birmingham Pubs"? If so I shall be tempted to buy!
