thanks for that shirl...not sure if i am right here but some time ago i posted a cutting about a bad fire in the 1800s i think..im sure it was in little ann st..will try and find the thread if i can..mind you my memory could be failing..lol
 
The Floodgate Tavern. Sorry no date. 1930s/40s perhaps ? Viv.

Seems much changed in the Floodgate Street side, loss of a doorway and/or window etc. Maybe this was the result of Wild's building next door in the 1930s. See modern Streetview below.

I had a drink in there Saturday evening. It's now called 'The Ruin' It's got a hypster pub vibe but it was fine. Will definitely go back, some good original historic features still remain too. The way the Digbeth are is being revitalised is remarkable, I love it.
