Five Fields, Ward End

Just found a reference to Five Fields in Ward End. Seems to stretch from Bromford Lane up towards Ward End, even on Google. I haven't come across this before and a search hasn't thrown any light on it. Does anyone have any info on this area please?
 
Thanks JennyAnn. I've just ordered an Alan Godfrey map, 14.02. I'd like 14.03 but it doesn't seem to be available yet.
 
When I was little, I used to play at the rec which is off Bromford Lane on the corner of St Margarets, do you think that could be the five fields?
 
I know this is an old thread, but I keep coming across this photo and I cannot find any further information on this area. It's beginning to irritate me now, any help would be gratefully received. Could it have been some sort of an area like the Happy Valley at Yardley wood that was never named on a map but known for it's leisure pursuits?

I found this in the Birmingham Daily Post June 24th 1865. I think the minutes of the meeting are also available I will try and post them, they may give more of a clue. John

There also appears to be a story in the Birmingham Daily Post on 26th Jun 1865. The little I can read in the search results seems to say a path across Five Fields runs from Garrison Lane to the Saltley Training College.
