My grandmother lived in one of the courtyard houses in Beach Street Ladywood. She had eight children in a tiny back to back. Anyone know anything of her or her family?
 
Mary Elizabeth Hick was the aunt and sister in law of the 2 Alice's I mentioned on your other thread. Her brother Thomas was their husband/father.

Listed at 6 back 18 Beach St on the 1939 Register.

There are 10 Fisher/Hick children registrations, so 2 must have died young (Grace & Gordon),
